That will let the The City’s Public Works Department will begin working on logistics. Neighboring businesses are encouraged to talk with each other about what space will be available, how they / should they be shared, and what should be requested formally to the City. To keep your neighbors in the loop, the neighborhood block club leaders have also been copied on this email. Currently, the business or event planner requesting closures is responsible for barricade costs. The Fort Road Federation is working in conjunction with the West 7th Business Association to find other funding sources to make this less of a burden.
Waive parking requirements allowing restaurants to use their parking lots.
They can also use private property, but need to make sure to abide by setbacks and other requirements.
Sidewalks can be used if social distancing can be observed.
Restaurants might be able to use parking lanes for dining or they could be used for pedestrian right of way.
Street closings in highly concentrated restaurant areas (likely limited to specific dates/times).
Public parks might be utilized to offer dining space.
Proposing Executive Order that would eliminate the need for liquor license petition for serving alcohol outdoors.
Restaurants will be asked to complete a self-certification form.
Outdoor dining would be required to close at 10pm Sun – Thurs and midnight Fri and Sat to be considerate of noise levels in neighborhoods.
