Note: Garden #14 Little Sisters of the Poor regrets their garden will not be open for the tour as planned.

Neighbors gathered on
May 9, 2009 to rejuvenate the plantings
of the North High Bridge Park. Divisions not needed
were potted up for the plant sale to support other park
projects.
2010 West End Neighbors Garden Tour
Saturday, June 19, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
West End Gardeners and The Fort Road Federation will hold the third annual free garden tour in 2010.
On June 6, 2009, seventeen West 7th Street area neighbors offered their
gardens for viewing, including the historic Ramsey House--first
Minnesota governor's Victorian mansion! The day was
rainy and cold, but gardeners throughout the tour expressed
joy that finally (?) the drought was over. Leave it to
gardeners! maybe it was also the coffee and kolache
(donated by Czech and Slovak Sokol Minnesota) that helped!

Plant divisions were also
sold at the Federation
offices, 974 West 7th Street, in support of neighborhood garden
projects. Master Gardeners and
experienced West End gardeners were available for consultations
and advice!

Peinture de plein air
While you mosey through the West End Garden Tour, you may hear
sounds of a guitar and see a few West End Artists at their easels
painting in open air. The French call this peinture de
plein air. Please feel free to ask the artists about their
work and West End Arts. Hope to see you there!
