9:30-10:10 a.m. Great way to get out, meet new people and do something healthy at the same time! Instructor is a certified Arthritis Foundation exercise leader. Class combines seated and standing exercises along with a short endurance routine.
Cost: $6.00 per month. Come and try a class!
Wednesdays: Weekly Big Band Dancing
1:00-3:00 p.m. Put your dancing shoes on! The Golden Tones Dance Band will be playing. Refreshments provided.

10:00-11:30 David Nimmer now teaches journalism at the University St. Thomas and is contributing columnist to Good Age Newspaper. Dave’s topic is how to find meaning in life when ;you no longer have a business card. Dave will give tips on trying to live a rich and meaningful life when the old rules no longer apply.

10:00-11:30 It is commonly accepted that the scientific revolution was the chief historical/intellectual event that inspired the rise of modernity in the western cultural world. Without contesting this assumption, this course will examine the role of two other revolutions as major contributing factors in modern world outlook: the cumulative technological revolution traceable to the early Middle Ages and the Reformation, a religious revolution contemporaneous with the Copernican revolution. Cost: $20.00

5:00-9:00 This classroom training program is designed to help persons 50 and older improve their driving skills. Course completion is required to initiate auto insurance discounts. Auto insurance companies in most states provide a multiyear discount to AARP graduates! Instructor is a trained volunteer.
Fee: $15, for AARP members (must present your AARP to receive discount) $17 for non-AARP members.

Tuesday, October 5: Fall Colors Trip Aboard the Osceola Railway
10:00 Pick up 3:00 Return: During this 1.5 hour, 20-mile trip, experience the scenic beauty of the St. Croix River Valley. Watch for turkeys, deer and bald eagles, and enjoy the Bridal Veil and Buttermilk Falls and the many other brooks and streams along the way.We will travel along the sandstone bluffs of the St. Croix River valley, cross over the Cedar Bend Draw Bridge, journey through William O’Brien state park and on to Marine on the St. Croix. While on the train, we will enjoy a boxed lunch from local family farm, Eichten’s. On our way back to the cities, we will make a stop at Pine Tree Apple Orchard in White Bear Lake. Those who are interested can stop in the store and purchase fresh apples, fresh or frozen baked goods, jams and jellies. Lunch Menu: Wild Rice Ham or Turkey Hoagie with Chips, Fresh Fruit and Dessert.

Thursdays, October 7-November 18 Sound Effects Peer Connection Group
10:30-12:00 Sound Effects is a group for people who have or know someone who has a hearing loss. As a participant in the group you will learn more about hearing loss, coping strategies, communication techniques, new technology and available resource and work toward positive change. Group members will also be able to discuss problems and frustrations related to hearing loss as well as discoveries and successes in addressing hearing loss. This group is for people 55 and over. No age requirement for caregivers or family members of persons with a hearing loss, 6-week session, no class November 11
